Privacy policy

Last updated: 2 September 2026

This is a personal portfolio. It sells nothing, has no user accounts, and collects as little as it can. This page describes exactly what happens to any data you do leave here.

Who is responsible

Giorgio Gaudio, the owner of this site, is the data controller. You can reach me at giorgio.gaudio@gmail.com.

Getting in touch

This site has no contact form and no newsletter. The contact page simply lists my email address, so anything you send me arrives as an ordinary email and is handled by my mail provider, not by this website.

I use what you write only to reply to you, and I never add you to a mailing list.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel processes technical data needed to deliver the page (your IP address, browser type and the URL requested) and keeps short-lived logs for security and reliability. The legal basis is legitimate interest in keeping the site running.

Analytics, and your choice

I use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages get visited. It is privacy-friendly by design: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you, does not track you across sites, and reports only aggregated figures. I cannot identify an individual visitor from it.

On your first visit you are asked whether to allow it. The choice is real: if you decline, the analytics script is never loaded. Your answer is remembered in your browser’s local storage so you are not asked again, and it never leaves your device. Clearing your site data resets the question.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, and uses no advertising and no cross-site tracking. The only thing kept on your device is your answer to the analytics question above, stored locally so the notice does not come back on every page.

Fonts and embedded content

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers and they receive your IP address as part of that request.

Two project pages run a working prototype inside the page itself: the Take Care passport and doctor portal, and the Kai face. Both are hosted on vercel.app and begin loading as soon as you open the page, which means that host receives your IP address the same way this site does. Nothing you do inside those frames is reported back here.

Where a project page links out to an external site, that site’s own privacy policy applies once you follow the link.

How long data is kept

Emails you send me are kept in my mailbox for as long as the conversation is useful, and deleted on request. Server logs and aggregated analytics are retained according to Vercel's own retention periods.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, or export your data, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw consent. Write to giorgio.gaudio@gmail.com and I will respond. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
