About

Hi. My name is Giorgio. Interaction designer, based in Italy.

Since I was a child I have wanted to give shape to my ideas,

fascinated by inventions and inventors.

So I studied industrial design at IAAD in Turin.

There I learned respect for materials, care for detail and finishes,

and I began my working life with those.

Over time my attention moved to the real experiences people have

when they use objects, and to the mark those experiences leave on their lives.

That interest took me into usability, designing apps and software

for Italian companies. Working on software I found a medium

in which nothing is final, and I understood that it is exactly

this reversibility that leaves so much room for error.

So I chose to work where those errors are expensive:

healthcare, rehabilitation, public transport, energy.

Places where the person on the other side of the interface

did not choose to be a user: a patient, a commuter,

a doctor at the end of a shift. Contexts where accessibility, clarity

and error tolerance are requirements, not finishing touches.

For three years I sharpened the craft in Basel, at Experientia,

on European Commission projects: qualitative research, long horizons,

multidisciplinary teams and many stakeholders.

My curiosity did not stop there, and the next step was learning

how to make projects interactive, giving them life with sensors,

cables and language models, which is how I arrived

in the agentic IoT era. Today I am a research fellow

at the Politecnico di Torino, completing a master’s in interaction

design at SUPSI in Switzerland. My approach always starts from research.

I prototype early and validate with people as soon as possible,

because a decision made on evidence costs less than one made in a meeting.

Right now I work on platforms, conversational AI agents

and interactive objects. I do this work because I think

designers carry a social and political responsibility.

It matters to make objects and interfaces that are genuinely useful,

and that in the end try to change the world for the better.

Giorgio
